Just Because: The Hynes Family

The Hynes Family, now THAT is who you want to spend a Sunday afternoon with.
Here's why.....
Great job Sarah....high five!
Oops....LOL
How pretty is Sarah...seriously?
Daddy's girl
....even though she doesn't look too confident about being so high up :)
1, 2, 3.....UP!!!!
Again!
Then a couple alone of Mom & Dad
Jamie who really isn't much for having his photo taken, was a great sport when I asked him to not only pose but kiss his wife Myrna for ALL the world to see
You know what he's thinking here? Seriously....can I go now?
Yes you can go, because we're going to take some solo shots of Sarah
First let's get Grandma's garden weeded
Myrna's Dad has this OLD truck that we used for some of Sarah's photos and Myrna "Just Because" session
Here's the ones of Sarah....Myrna's Just Because session, coming soon!
LOVE Sarah's leggings
I couldn't wait to use the old truck as a prop when Myrna and I discussed it.
Obviously this is why
What's that volkswagen commercial? There are passengers and then there are drivers.
Drivers wanted.
Sarah is definitely a driver
And one last shot, it was accidental because she didn't want to stay sitting on the truck. But I love it cause it totally looks like she's posing
Thanks so much again to the Hynes family. Especially Jamie who tolerated my awesome photographer skills.
Not really....I'm just a girl with a camera, loving what I do.
So don't forget...stay tuned for Myrna's VERY hot and sexy "Just Because" session....oh yeah it's that good!

Just Because: The Hughes Family

The Hughes family, they're from Calgary but we're visiting Newfoundland at the same time as me and scheduled WELL in advance their session to ensure a spot in my busy schedule.
Daphne, the mom, the heart of the family, is also a very close childhood friend of mine. Over the years we've stayed close and despite the miles I still call her a very dear friend.
-------------------
On this very hot and sunny Tuesday afternoon we headed out to a few locations to get their family portraits.
The results....ah-mah-zing!!! Or I think so.
It also resulted in me getting a pretty bad sunburn, my own fault for not putting on sunblock before I headed out. But it was worth it when you see the awesome blue skies that were definitely a welcomed back drop.
I think every time I turned around to find Josh he was in the water. Picking up crab shells, mussel shells, rocks, you name it. Hey what can I say he is a boy afterall....but an OH SO CUTE one at that!
So Daphne had pre-warned me that Caitlynn is NOT camera shy, and loves to pose. She was right :)
It was EASY to get this shot of her. Gorgeous!
Dad taking a "breather" while I was focusing on the kids
Then we headed to a little fishing shack on the beach, no worries, my dad knows the owner and we were able to get permission to shoot there.
See what I mean about the blue skies being the perfect back drop?
A few more of the kids.....brotherly & sisterly love....he, he
No worries, they made up
One last quick one of Caitlynn....poser....LOL
And last but not least, Daphne
She's a mom who works very hard at raising her children, being a wife, and being a very talented quilter. Check out her blog HERE
I was thrilled to be able to get some not so "mom" looking photos of her.
I've put what I call a more "artistic" feel to these with my processing and editing, what do you think?
LOVED the shoes!
Yeah baby....Mom schmom!
And this nice one to finish everything off
Daphne, its been too long since we saw each other last.
I cannot thank you enough for choosing me to do your family photos, I'm truly touched :)
You and your family are beautiful and I had a great time capturing that for you.

Just Because: The Brake Family

If I had to pick one word to describe the Brake family, it would be FUN!
This family knows what life is about. Its about laughter, hugs, kisses, and spending time together.
On a very cool & windy Sunday morning, my friend Jody, her husband Craig and their kids Gina & Daymon reminded me of how important family is.
Here's a couple solo shots of Gina. She talks in this oh so small voice. Seriously I could just squish her up (that's a good thing)  :)
He, he....too cute
Daymon is definitely the shy one of the family. He really wasn't much for having his photo taken however he did want one of himself on a car....I love his expression of trying not to smile/laugh
Close up
Some of Mom & Dad, if you know Jody you know there's hardly a serious bone in her body. There might be ONE in there somewhere?
She's definitely the life of the party
Here's the ONE serious bone, I knew it was in there somewhere!
Can't forget one alone of Dad
We headed inside to warm up and I was able to capture this family shot
But back outside before finishing up and I was able to capture this!
Love it!
Despite the strong winds, cool weather and the early morning when I know you were out late the previous evening, you worked it out! I told you not to worry :)

Just Because: 1st Birthday

As promised my fav's from little N's 1st birthday photo session
The thing about little N he smiles a lot ...just not when the camera is on him.
I did manage to get a few cute ones though....so let's begin
This first couple I call the half smirk, "what's this lady doing?" shots :)
I'm a sucker for seeing kids deep in thought (which is often misunderstood as "why does Christa like pictures of kids that looks like their going to cry" its really not like that)
This shot he was so taken with his sandals, that truthfully he didn't really want to be wearing. It's like he's thinking "how'd these get on my feet?"
Not to mention I LOVE LOVE the natural lighting on this one
And finally some laughter & smiles, the way One Year Old's are meant to be...seriously he's so freakin' cute
My favourite from the day
It's not a true session with out at least one family photo
Thanks guys.
I had a lot of fun and it felt so good getting out with friends again :)
Remember summer session pricing is effective now AND most locations do not require permits like the location shown here.

Kalia Christmas

Well you know how two year olds are....full of energy, don't know what they're going to say or do next...and that would be little Faith...she's hilarious. She was even showing me where she coloured Mommy's walls and she knew she wasn't supposed too...Oh Oh!
First the whole family
Then Mommy & Daddy....I was teasing them for being so serious when it was time to do the family portrait. They started laughing and saying "we don't want anyone to know we're happy"....LOL I totally cracked up...wasn't expecting that response at all. So funny :)

Daddy's Little Girl
But....I don't want to wear this hat :(
Such a pretty smile.
And one in colour so you can see the beautiful colour of her Christmas dress and one of her many hilarious expressions :) Told ya she was funny.
